Yeah, I'm a month behind... Again

So I'm running behind on my posts, sorry. Here's some pics I've taken, hope that tides you over till I get around to posting again.

Yeah, that's a dead turkey. Courtesy of me and my Marlin 30-30. He had a 10 inch beard, which I'm told is a good thing. He also had 1.5 inch spurs, again I was told this was good. Funny thing about deer hunting and coming across a turkey. On the one hand you don't want to pop a bird when you could hold off and get some more venison. On the other hand you have game in front of you, the sun is setting, and you aren't getting a deer today anyway. I shot him at 170 yards with 150 grain jacketed hollowpoint. This was a great round for deer, but overkill on turkey. It ruined half of the meat, sorta turned it into paste actually. Raw turkey patte isn't very appealing so I fed it to the wild pigs. Also, when you shoot a turkey you should have a clue how to clean it and store it. I had to call my father inlaw and ask him what to do.

Ok, more pictures!

Me and my first buck. Cute isn't he? I'm the fat guy holding the dead deer incase you were confused. Speaking of fat, my buck and I went on a diet. He doesn't look so good now, but I'm down about 25lbs over the last 2 months. To all of my family, thanks for noticing and making positive comments on my weight loss when we were all at the lake.

Here's my buck today.

As you can see, he's looking super model thin. I'm just more trim.

Ok, here are some pics from the family get together in Kingsland.

Ok, maybe not. I'll get them on my computer soon. Hope you are all well.
